Why Timber Bricks Are Different

OUR STORY: A DECADE TO DO IT RIGHT
Timber Brands was officially founded and patented in 2024, but our development journey began a decade earlier.
What started with simple prototypes quickly revealed deeper challenges — from inconsistent manufacturing specs to unexpected conflicts of interest. Along the way, we gained clarity on what we had to do: build a better process from the ground up.
Over time, it became clear that bringing innovation to this space would require full independence. We navigated every step — from legal to supply chain — to ensure production aligned with our values.
In 2024, our U.S. utility patent was granted. And with it, we launched Timber Brands with in-house engraving and U.S.-based production, supported by international patent protections.
Today, we remain committed to precision, transparency, and progress — creating engraved wooden bricks designed to last and trusted to inspire.
WHERE THE BRICK STORY BEGINS
In 1947, British designer Hilary Page developed one of the earliest interlocking brick formats through Kiddicraft — helping shape a category that would grow to dominate play culture.
Since then, the industry has relied on proprietary plastic blends, supplied by global chemical partners with little motivation to change. Even as material sustainability became a public concern, serious exploration into non-plastic alternatives only began once we started building our own.
Timber Brands was developed independently — from patented structure to FSC-certified material — to prove a different standard is not only possible, but better. After years of delays, misdirection, and compromised production abroad, we brought it all in-house.
Today, every brick is made in the U.S., free of plastic, finished without toxins, and engineered for purpose — not convenience.
