We believed a familiar building brick could inspire creativity and a more thoughtful choice of materials. After more than a decade of development and persistence, Timber Brands brings that idea to life—with natural wood and designs you can make your own.
The idea that kept us going
An idea we kept building on.
The question was simple: what could a familiar building brick become if it were made from natural materials—and people could make it their own?
We imagined children drawing on their creations, teachers turning a brick into a learning tool, and people adding words and designs that meant something to them. Wood offered a surface with character and room for expression.
Bringing that idea to market took years. Manufacturing setbacks, distribution difficulties, and a long intellectual-property process repeatedly slowed our progress. We kept developing the product, working through obstacles, and looking for a way to bring the idea forward.
Our first U.S. utility patent issued in 2022. A second followed in 2024. Those milestones became part of the foundation for the next chapter of our work.

The challenges we encountered made one goal clearer: we wanted greater control over how our products were made and how they reached customers.
Manufacturing in the United States has always been part of that vision. Timber Brands brings our work forward through custom engraved bricks while we build toward the broader manufacturing capability needed for complete building sets and figures.
Our long-term goal is to bring that wider collection into our own U.S. production operation, with direct oversight of the process and the freedom to keep improving it.
Independence gives us room to develop the ideas we believe in.

Some of the most interesting creations begin with “What if?” A familiar shape becomes something unexpected. A new idea changes the whole build. A name, drawing, or message makes it personal.
That freedom has been part of our purpose from the beginning. We want to give children room to experiment, solve problems, and follow their own ideas. We want educators and creators to have a material they can adapt to the story they want to tell.
